In February 1774, Robert Morrow and his brother John emmigrated with their father, William and mother, Marie Milligan, to the Province of South Carolina and landed in Charleston. They settled in the Abbeville District.
Robert and his wife, Emeretine Greneau, were in Avoyelles Parish by about 1790 when they made their home on Bayou Des Glaises. He was the second doctor at Avoyelles. He was also appointed a Justice of the Peace.
On February 10, 1816 he became the first Postmaster of Avoyelles Parish.
In 1821 he played an important role in organizing the government of Marksville, the first town in the parish.
Robert Morrow was appointed or served as a justice of the Peace in Avoyelles in 1823.
In 1823, he also was appointed with William McFarland, a truste of public education by the Avoyelles Parish Police Jury.
Robert Morrow was deceased by 2 March 1855 when his property was divided by his children in Avoyelles.
