Charles Duvall Brashear, Avoyellean of 1843

Charles Duvall Brashear, was selected for the year 1843 as that is the year he served as the first mayor of the newly incorporated town of Marksville. He was the first person to serve as mayor of any town in Avoyelles, as Marksville was the first town incorporated, followed by Mansura in 1860.
